SPEAKERS

Marco Baccanti

Marco Baccanti has a long international experience in the field of economic development and valorization of research in life sciences. He has held several leadership roles, including General Manager of the ‘San Raffaele Biomedical Science Park’, Executive Director of the ‘DuBiotech’ Science Park for the Government of the United Arab Emirates and Chief Executive of the ‘Health Industries SA’ Authority for the Australian Government. Among his institutional roles, he was president of IASP, International Association of Science Parks and member of the ‘Healthy living’ leadership board of the World Economic Forum. He returned to Italy after many years abroad to direct ‘Trentino Sviluppo’ and ‘Fondazione Enea Tech e Biomedical’, up to his current position as General Director of the ‘Fondazione Innovazione e Pagamento Tecnologico’, responsible for the research valorization processes of IRCCS, biomedical research centers and biotech companies.

Pietro Puglisi

Pietro Puglisi is a founding partner of Claris Ventures (over €150 million under management), with fifteen years of experience in investing and innovating in the life sciences sector. He currently serves on the board of directors of NeoPhore, Resalis Therapeutics, Kither Biotech, Heqet Therapeutics, Repron Therapeutics, ALKemist Bio and Lever Bio. Pietro holds a Master in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Torino (Italy) and an MBA from Collège des Ingénieurs (France/Italy) and started his career at LifeSciences Consultants.
