like?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-ac71fef elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"ac71fef\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Until a few years ago, no one would have been surprised if, when asked &#8220;how do you envision the office of the future?&#8221;, the majority of people had answered <i>&#8220;open space&#8221;<\/i>. The situation, however, began to change a few years ago, even before the wave of redefining workspaces implemented during and especially after the pandemic. The offices commonly referred to <i>as open spaces<\/i> are typically structured with a large open <i>area<\/i>, indeed, intended for the majority of a company&#8217;s workforce and typically surrounded by spaces designated as meeting <i>rooms<\/i> and <i>breakrooms<\/i>; furthermore, while in some cases managers and CEOs have private offices near the <i>open-plan area<\/i>, in other cases, private offices are not provided, and everyone works in the <i>open-plan area.<\/i>. This office model was originally designed to increase collaboration levels and improve communication quality in the workplace among members of the same department or team, or more broadly, to break down physical and communicative barriers between different departments and levels within some companies. This trend, dating back to the 1960s, demonstrated the benefits of closer working relationships among employees.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-f98fb33 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"f98fb33\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-3ee8e6f\" data-id=\"3ee8e6f\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b523a2f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b523a2f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Indeed, in the Sixties, the <i>open space office<\/i> has experienced a real surge in popularity: the so-called <i>b\u00fcrolandschaft<\/i> is based on a concept of German origin that refers to the &#8220;landscape&#8221; of the office created through design, with the primary goal of <a style=\"font-weight: normal;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fastcompany.com\/90236769\/hate-your-cubicle-thank-medieval-monks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;making the workplace more democratic and fostering more interactions among colleagues&#8221;<\/a>; altough, it is worth noting that, in fact, already in the early twentieth century, there were architects who had recognized the potential of an &#8220;open&#8221; design for the office: a well-known example is Frank Lloyd Wright, who in 1936, designed the first office building entirely conceived according to an open space architectural plan for the SC Johnson Wax company. The objective behind the modernization of office design and the shift towards openness was certainly to maximize productivity, also under the conceptual drive of business consultants \u2014 such as Frederick Taylor \u2014 who adopted it as a fundamental advice for companies seeking ways to improve their employees&#8217; performance.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-4212146 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"4212146\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-0b20e42\" data-id=\"0b20e42\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-656f25e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"656f25e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>If we move from the 1960s to the present day, the numbers speak for themselves: <a style=\"font-weight: normal;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/worklife\/article\/20170105-open-offices-are-damaging-our-memories\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in 2017, the BBC reported that <i>open space offices<\/i> had been chosen by approximately 70% of companies in the United States<\/a>, for example. However, research into the functionality and effectiveness of the choice <i>of an open space office<\/i>: according to some of these, the data would show that those who work in <i>an open space office<\/i> are 15% less productive mainly (but not only) due to concentration issues and distractions, which are more frequent in this type of space (the research shows that even minor distractions can lead to a loss of concentration of more than twenty minutes). which compromises or solutions can be adopted to overcome the drawbacks of the model without losing its advantages, and to definitively move towards the office of the future.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-fefa169 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"fefa169\" It&#8217;s a matter of accessibility: physically positioning employees in the same space, at relatively close distances, puts them in rapid and immediate contact with each other, encouraging exchanges of opinions and idea and <\/span><a style=\"font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-weight: normal; background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.flock.com\/open-office-pros-and-cons\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201ccultural collisions\u201d<\/a><span style=\"color: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">, thus improving teamwork and consequently productivity. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2. Thinking about saving<\/b><br \/><span style=\"color: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Whether considering the costs of furnishing\u2014 with typically interchangeable and customizable furniture\u2014 a single, albeit large area, rather than many &#8220;cubicle&#8221; offices, or calculating the savings in the purchase of technical equipment (such as printers, projectors, and photocopiers), the end result is the same: the office&#8217;s <\/span><span style=\"color: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><i>open space area<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"> has competitive costs compared to the so-called &#8220;standard&#8221; office. It&#8217;s not surprising that the open space model is still extremely popular among startups and small companies taking their first steps in the business world. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-style: inherit;\"><b>3.
